Besivance (Besifloxacin) Product Information

Besivance is a prescription medicine for treating bacterial infections.

Besivance is also known as besifloxacin. It belongs to a category of antibiotic drugs called fluoroquinolones.

The work of Besivance is to fight bacteria in the whole body. So when you have a bacterial infection of the eyes, your doctor is likely to prescribe Besivance for your condition.

Order Besivance Eye Drops Online

Besivance 0.6% is manufactured by Bausch & Lomb Inc. and we have it available in 5ml bottle size. Our low price starts at $43 for one bottle and $105 for three bottles.

This medication is dispensed from our Canadian pharmacy. The estimated shipping time to USA is 7-10 business days.

It is an antibiotic medication that you can buy online on our PricePro Pharmacy website. Give us a call or chat live with our customer care representatives  to learn more about Besivance and how to buy it from Canada at low cost.

Dosage

Besivance should be taken exactly as prescribed by the doctor. The normal adult dosage for those having bacterial conjunctivitis is one drop in each affected eye three times per day. So you should apply it four to twelve hours apart and stop after seven days.

The right pediatric dose for bacterial conjunctivitis is the same as the dosage for adults. However, the medicine should not be given to kids who are less than one year old.

The medication is able to stop bacterial conjunctivitis due to C striatum, C pseudodiphtheriticum, A viridans, S aureus, S hominis, warneri, S mitis group, S oralis and CDC coryneform group G among others.

To make sure that this medication works for you, use it exactly the way your doctor prescribes it. Remove your contact lenses first to make sure they don’t become permanently damaged by a preservative in Besivance medicine. Insert them again at least fifteen minutes after applying your medicine.

Wash your hands before use to reduce chances of contamination. To apply do this:

  • Invert your bottle and shake it a bit
  • Tilt our head backward slightly and pull down your lower eyelid
  • Hold the dropper tip right above your eye
  • Look up and away from the tip and squeeze out a drop into the small socket
  • Close your eye and press your finger to the inner corner of your eye. Do it gently for one minute so the medicine can flow into the tear duct.

Stop using this medication when your doctor asks you to. Also, be careful not to skip your doses to limit further eye infection.

Side Effects

Are you allergic to besifloxacin? If so, you are much more likely to have some side effects. However, severe side effects are not so common and when they occur, they include severe eye irritation, redness, crusting and swelling.

You might also feel as if there is an object inside your eye and might have fever. There might also be signs of an allergic effect such as swelling of the tongue and throat and hives.

If you notice these, call your doctor right away. It is okay to have eye redness. Most people taking Besivance will notice this side effect and endure it just fine. Keep using your Besivance medication for as long as seven days.

Precautions

If your doctor has examined your eyes and wants to put you on Besivance, let them learn the following about you.

  • Your pregnancy or if you are looking to conceive a baby during treatment
  • That you are breastfeeding. No one knows if besifloxacin can be absorbed into breast milk and harm a nursing baby. So let your doctor know if you’re a breastfeeding mother
  • That you have besifloxacin allergy
  • If you wear contact lenses, you might want to get a Besivance substitute

Vivelle-Dot (Estradiol Transdermal System) Medication Information

Uses

Vivelle-Dot is a prescription transdermal system (patch) that contains the medication estradiol, a form of estrogen.

Vivelle-Dot may be used after menopause for the following purposes:

  • Reduce moderate to severe hot flashes.  Hot flashes can happen when estrogen levels drop due to menopause (the end of menstrual periods).
  • Treatment of moderate to severe vaginal atrophy.  With vaginal atrophy, the walls of the vagina may become thin, dry, and irritated, and can make sex painful.
  • Reduce your chance of osteoporosis (thinning, weak bones).

Vivelle-Dot may also be prescribed before menopause in women with certain medical conditions.

Dosage

Vivelle-Dot is a patch that releases a type of estrogen (estradiol) into the skin over 3 to 4 days.  It comes in packs of 8 patches and is available in five different strengths:

  • 0.025 mg per day
  • 0.0375 mg per day
  • 0.05 mg per day
  • 0.075 mg per day
  • 0.1 mg per day

Change your Vivelle-Dot patch two times a week or exactly as instructed by your doctor.

The Vivelle-Dot package has a calendar to help you keep track of the two days per week that you will change your patch.

Precautions

Vivelle-Dot contains a form of estrogen, which may have serious health risks.

Vivelle-Dot may not be safe for women with certain conditions.  Before using Vivelle-Dot, be sure to tell your doctor if you’ve had:

  • Unusual vaginal bleeding
  • Stroke or heart attack
  • Cancer
  • Blood clots or bleeding problems
  • Liver problems
  • Upcoming surgery
  • Allergic reaction to Vivelle-Dot or its ingredients

  •  Irregular vaginal bleeding or spotting
  •  Abdominal bloating or discomfort

Some serious side effects of Vivelle-Dot may rarely occur.*  A few examples include:

  • Stroke
  • Blood clots
  • Dementia
  • Breast, uterine, or ovarian cancer
  • High blood pressure

For more information on the possible side effects of Vivelle-Dot, talk with your doctor or pharmacist.

*See the FAQ section below for information on how to reduce your chances of severe side effects.

Interactions

Some drug interactions can happen with products that replace estrogen.  These interactions could increase the risk of side effects. A few examples include:

  • Clarithromycin
  • Ketoconazole
  • Ritonavir

Grapefruit and grapefruit juice can also increase the risk of side effects and should be avoided.

Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking any other medications or herbal supplements with Vivelle-Dot.

Storage

Store Vivelle-Dot in its original packaging at room temperature (77°F or 25°C).

Pharmacists Tips

  • Apply Vivelle-Dot to clean, dry skin on your lower abdomen or buttocks. The skin must be free of any lotions or oils for the patch to stick.
  • When you change your patch, don’t use the same exact spot.  Choose a different area each time to reduce your chance of your skin irritation.
  • Avoid placing Vivelle-Dot patches on the waistline because clothes may rub or loosen the patch.

Vivelle-Dot FAQs

Will Vivelle-Dot come off in the shower or swimming pool?

It shouldn’t.  Vivelle-Dot usually stays on while bathing or swimming.  If your patch falls off, reapply it.  If you cannot reapply the same patch, apply a new one to a different spot, then continue your regular schedule.

What can I do to prevent serious side effects from Vivelle-Dot?

Talk with your doctor regularly about whether or not you should continue using Vivelle-Dot.  You must get preventative screenings and do your part to support your health.

  • Keep your regular doctor visits, including all pelvic exams and mammograms.
  • Talk with your doctor about ways to reduce your heart disease risk, such as controlling your blood pressure, cholesterol, and weight.
  • If you smoke, quit or ask your doctor for help quitting.
  • If your hot flashes are mild and you use Vivelle-Dot to treat vaginal symptoms, talk with your doctor about whether a different product would be safer for you.

What should I do if I forget to change my Vivelle-Dot patch?

If you forget to change your patch, apply a new one as soon as you remember.  Then, continue your normal schedule.  There is no need to reset the day that you change your next patch.

Your liver function will need to be checked often: Every 2 to 4 weeks for the first 6 months of treatment, and then as often as your doctor recommends.

You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to TASMAR, or if you have:

  • liver disease;
  • a history of liver problems caused by TASMAR; or

Do not use the eye drops if the liquid has changed colors or has particles in it.

Visanne (Dienogest)

Visanne (Dienogest) Dosage and Side Effects

VISANNE is a treatment for the painful symptoms caused by endometriosis in women who have had the first menstrual cycle (menarche).

Warnings and Precautions

Serious Warnings and Precautions

VISANNE can decrease the bone mineral density (BMD) in adolescent girls (12 to <18 years). This effect may not be completely reversible once treatment is stopped.

Effects on BMD may be greater with increasing duration of use. It is unknown if the use of VISANNE during adolescence will reduce peak bone mass and increase the risk of developing osteoporosis (brittle bones).

The risks and benefits of this treatment in adolescents should be re-evaluated on a regular basis.

Before starting VISANNE, you must be sure that you are not pregnant and must stop taking any form of birth control that contains hormones such as the pill, patch, intrauterine system, injection, or ring.

While using VISANNE you must use a nonhormonal birth control method such as condoms or a diaphragm. DO NOT use any form of birth control that contains hormones.

VISANNE is not a birth control method and will not prevent pregnancy.

VISANNE should not be used in women who have not had their first menstrual cycle.

Cigarette smoking increases the risk of serious adverse effects on the heart and blood vessels. Smoking may also increase adverse effects on bone density. You should not smoke while taking VISANNE.

BEFORE you use VISANNE, talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you:

  • have ever had a medical condition related to a blood clot (thromboembolic disorder) or anyone in your immediate family has had a blood clot at a relatively early age.
  • have a close relative who has had breast cancer.
  • suffer or have suffered from depression.
  • have uncontrolled high blood pressure.
  • have a history of liver disease. Symptoms may include yellowing of the skin or eyes or itching all over your body. Inform your doctor also if such symptoms occurred during a previous pregnancy.
  • have diabetes or had diabetes temporarily during a previous pregnancy.
  • have ever had chloasma (golden-brown patches on the skin, particularly on the face).
  • have lactose intolerance. VISANNE tablets contain lactose.

The Risks of Using VISANNE

  1. Circulatory Disorder (including blood clots in the legs, lungs, heart, eyes, or brain)
  2. Some studies have suggested that women who use progestin-only medications might have a slightly higher risk of blood clots; however, the results are not certain. You should discuss risk factors for blood clots with your doctor.
  3. Be alert for the following symptoms and signs of serious adverse effects associated with blood clots. Call your doctor immediately if they occur:
    • Sharp pain in the chest, coughing blood, or sudden shortness of breath.
    • Pain and/or swelling in the calf.
    • Crushing chest pain or heaviness.
    • Sudden, severe, or worsening headache or vomiting, dizziness or fainting, disturbances of vision or speech, or weakness or numbness in an arm or leg.
    • Sudden partial or complete loss of vision.
  4. Breast Cancer
  5. The most significant risk factors for breast cancer are increasing age and a strong history of breast cancer in the family (mother or sister). Other established risk factors include onset of menstrual periods before age 12 years, never having children, having your first full-term pregnancy after the age of 30 years, never having breastfed a child, and daily alcohol consumption.
  6. Some studies have shown that the risk of developing breast cancer does not appear to be increased by using progestin-only therapies like VISANNE. However, more thorough studies are needed to confirm that there is no increased risk. You should also discuss breast self-examination with your doctor and report any breast lumps. A yearly breast examination by a health care professional is recommended for all women.
  7. Diabetes
  8. Patients with diabetes who use VISANNE should have their blood glucose levels closely monitored.
  9. Ectopic Pregnancy
  10. If you become pregnant while taking VISANNE, you are at a slightly increased risk of having an ectopic pregnancy (the embryo develops outside the womb). Before you start taking VISANNE, tell your doctor if you had an ectopic pregnancy in the past or have an impaired function of the fallopian tubes.
  11. Liver Tumors
  12. In rare cases, benign liver tumors, and in even fewer cases malignant liver tumors, have been reported in women taking hormones. Contact your doctor if you have unusually severe stomach pain.
  13. Changes in Bone Mineral Density
  14. Westcort (Hydrocortisone Valerate) Dosage and Side Effects

WESTCORT is used to treat a variety of skin conditions (e.g., eczema, dermatitis, allergies, rash). WESTCORT reduces the swelling, itching, and redness that can occur in these types of conditions.

Warnings and Precautions

Before using WESTCORT, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to other corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone, triamcinolone); or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: poor blood circulation, diabetes, immune system problems.

Do not use if there is an infection or sore in the area to be treated.

Rarely, using corticosteroid medications for a long time or over large areas of skin can make it more difficult for your body to respond to physical stress. Therefore, before having surgery or emergency treatment, or if you get a serious illness/injury, tell your doctor or dentist that you are using this medication or have used this medication within the past few months.

Though it is unlikely, this medication may slow down a child's growth if used for a long time. The effect on final adult height is unknown. See the doctor regularly so your child's height can be checked.

During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.

It is not known whether this drug passes into breast milk when applied to the skin. Similar medications pass into breast milk when taken by mouth. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Side Effects

Stinging, burning, itching, irritation, dryness, or redness at the application site may occur when this medication is first applied to the skin. These effects should disappear in a few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.

Tell your doctor right away if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: stretch marks, skin thinning/discoloration, acne, extreme/unwanted hair growth, "hair bumps" (folliculitis).

Skin infections can become worse when this medication is used. Notify your doctor promptly if redness, swelling, or irritation does not improve.

Rarely, it is possible this medication will be absorbed from the skin into the bloodstream. This can lead to side effects of too much corticosteroid. These side effects are more likely in children, and in people who use this medication for a long time or over large areas of the skin. Tell your doctor right away if any of the following side effects occur: unusual/extreme tiredness, weight loss, headache, swelling ankles/feet, increased thirst/urination, vision problems.

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

This is not a complete list of possible side effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Interactions with this medication

Your doctor or pharmacist may already be aware of any possible drug interactions and may be monitoring you for them. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with your doctor or pharmacist first.

Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription or nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: corticosteroids taken by mouth (e.g., prednisone), drugs that lower the immune system (e.g., cyclosporine).

This document does not contain all possible interactions. Therefore, before using this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all the products you use. Keep a list of all your medications with you, and share the list with your doctor and pharmacist.

Proper Use of this medication

Use this medication on the skin only. However, do not use it on the face, groin, or underarms unless directed to do so by your doctor.

Wash and dry your hands before using. Clean and dry the affected area. Apply a thin film of medication to the affected area and gently rub in, usually 2-3 times daily or as directed by your doctor. Do not bandage, cover, or wrap the area unless directed to do so by your doctor. If used in the diaper area on an infant, do not use tight-fitting diapers or plastic pants.

After applying the medication, wash your hands unless you are using this medication to treat the hands. When applying this medication near the eyes, avoid getting it in the eyes because this may worsen or cause glaucoma. Also, avoid getting this medication in the nose or mouth. If you get the medication in these areas, rinse with plenty of water.

Use this medication only for the condition for which it was prescribed. Do not use it for longer than prescribed.

Inform your doctor if your condition persists or worsens after 2 weeks.
