Xiidra (Lifitegrast Ophthalmic Solution) Medication Information

Uses

Xiidra is a prescription eye drop that may be given to treat symptoms of dry eye disease (DED).

Symptoms of DED may include eye discomfort, dryness, and redness. People with DED do not produce enough tears to lubricate the eyes.

Xiidra works by binding to the protein LFA-1 in cells of the immune system called leukocytes. Xiidra prevents LFA-1 protein from interacting with ICAM-1 protein in corneal and conjunctival cells, preventing DED symptoms.

Dosage

The standard dose is one drop twice daily in each eye.

Take Xiidra exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
