Vytorin (Ezetimibe-Simvastatin) Medication Information

Uses

Vytorin is a combination medication that contains a cholesterol absorption inhibitor and a statin and it is used to treat hyperlipidemia.

Dosage

The tablets are available in several different strengths:

  • 10/10 mg
  • 10/20 mg
  • 10/40 mg
  • 10/80 mg

Side Effects

The most common side effects of Vytorin include:

  • Headache
  • Myalgia
  • Increase in liver enzymes
  • Upper respiratory infection
  • Diarrhea

Precautions

There is a risk of myopathy and a complication called rhabdomyolysis with the use of Vytorin.

Storage
