Edarbyclor (Azilsartan Medoxomil and Chlorthalidone) Medication Information

Uses

Edarbyclor contains a combination of the drugs azilsartan medoxomil and chlorthalidone. The medications work together to treat hypertension.

Hypertension (also called high blood pressure) is a chronic condition where the pressure inside the blood vessels is too high. People with hypertension don’t feel any symptoms, but the disease causes long-term damage. Over time, the pressure forms tears in the blood vessels that, when they heal, may create blockages and blood clots.

Azilsartan blocks a protein called Angiotensin II, and by doing so, relaxes the smooth muscle in blood vessels.

Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that lowers the fluid pressure inside the blood vessels.

Dosage

Edarbyclor is available in the following forms:

  • Azilsartan/Chlorthalidone 40/12.5 mg
