Benemid (Probenecid) Product Information

Benemid is a treatment for gouty arthritis. The active ingredient in this medication is called Probenecid.

Normally when you are prescribed Benemid you will be suffering from gout or gouty arthritis. These conditions are caused as a result of uric acid building up being passed into the urine. Taking Benemid will allow the body to reduce the amount of uric acid produced and reduce the effect of the condition.

Sometimes it will be prescribed alongside other medication and they can include antibiotics, such as nafcillin and ampicillin to create a quicker cure.

The cost of Probenecid 500mg starts at $89 for 100 tablets. This is the price without any insurance.

A prescription is required to buy Benemid online from PricePro Pharmacy. You can submit your Benemid prescription by fax, email, or upload on the website.

Benemid Dosage

The tablet should be taken exactly as the doctor prescribes. You should drink a lot of water in order to prevent the development of kidney stones which will make the condition harder to treat.

It is expected that the Benemid prescription will be 250 mg to be taken twice a day for the first week and then this will increase to 500 mg twice a day. The dosage will be best to take this with food and also to consider taking with antacids to prevent stomach problems. If the doctor thinks that there is the need to alter the prescription, they will do that but it must be their decision.
